Live sound · Corporate AV · Equipment rental · Bay Area
Front of house and monitors for touring and local bands. Full audio and streaming for conferences, talks and corporate events. Own rig for small and corporate work, partner rigs up to festival scale — and one person accountable either way.
01 — Services
Book me with a system, book me without one, or just hire the equipment. Whatever the shape of the job, you deal with one person the whole way through.
Mixing the room for local shows, festival slots and touring runs. Analogue or digital, house desk or mine.
Wedges or in-ears, mixed by someone who has stood on that side of the stage and knows what the ask means.
Conferences, panels, awards nights and product launches. Speech that stays intelligible at the back of the room.
Audio for the people who aren't in the room — the part that usually gets forgotten. I supply the sound; you or your video vendor bring the cameras.
02 — Live music
I spent [years] as Production Manager at Ashkenaz, the Berkeley landmark that's been putting on international and Americana music since 1973. That's a room where the band is different every single night, the stage plot arrives an hour before doors, and the show still has to start when it says it will.
That's the experience you're hiring. I read an input list properly, I don't need three explanations of what you want in your wedge, and I've mixed enough genres that nothing on your rider is going to surprise me.
I'm also a working guitarist, pianist and singer. It's the reason I mix the way I do — I know what it sounds like from up there, not just from behind the desk.
03 — Corporate & events
You're not buying a mix. You're buying the certainty that the keynote is audible, the stream doesn't drop, and nobody is crawling under a table during the opening remarks.
04 — Equipment rental
Dry hire if you have your own engineer, or fully operated if you'd rather not think about it. Delivery and collection across the Bay Area.
Microphone & DI kit
Scaling up
My own rig — WING Rack or XR18, DL32 and DL8 stage boxes, the EVOX column pair and a full mic and DI kit. Available immediately, no third party involved.
Sourced through local vendor partners for outdoor stages and small festivals, where the column pair runs out of headroom.
For the big ones. Full line array system through the same partner network, with me running it or managing the crew that does.
The EVOX towers are deliberately specified for small events and corporate work — even coverage, high speech intelligibility, and they visually disappear into a room rather than dominating it. For anything bigger I partner with local vendors to source the right system, which means you get a rig scaled to the actual event instead of whatever one supplier happens to own.
Either way you deal with me. Tell me the room, the headcount and what's happening on stage, and I'll come back with a package and the line items shown, so you can see exactly what you're paying for and which parts are hired in.

06 — About
Harry Gold. Berklee-trained, Berkeley-based, and about two decades into doing this. Alongside the live work I own and run Fool's Gold Studios, a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos room in North Berkeley, and I teach audio at Foothill College, Pyramind and the Academy of Art University as an Avid Certified Instructor.
The short version of why that matters for your event: I've mixed records, I've mixed rooms, and I've taught other people to do both. Very little goes wrong that I haven't already seen go wrong somewhere else.
